A fun and fresh new era for one of DC Comics' most iconic female superheroes continues in Batgirl #39, as Barbara Gordon juggles life in a new city that's on the hunt for the red-haired heroine while she continues dodging attacks from an unseen enemy claiming to be the "real" Batgirl -- whose true identity will make Babs question everything she thought she knew.  
Take a look at an exclusive five-page preview of the upcoming issue below, featuring Batgirl and Black Canary facing off in an intense training session.
Batgirl #39 is written by Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher with art by Babs Tarr. Variant Cover by Cliff Chiang. Available in print and digital Wednesday.

        Queer storyline rumors and Marvel movies go together like, well, superheroes and capes. Time and time again we've heard talk that this film is going to finally be the queer one. While the studio has without question taken strides in that direction -- The Eternals, set to hit theaters November 5, features a prominent gay character -- you can't blame LGBTQ+ fans for being a little skeptical when the latest round of rumors hits. (The less said about the whole Avengers: Endgame bait and switch, the better.)
