The Hollywood Reporter
and
Variety
are both reporting that the future looks grim for
The Farm
, the planned
L Word
spin-off that was to star Leisha Hailey.
Showtime has reportedly
passed on a pilot of the show, which was said to be set in a
prison. Famke Janssen, Laurie Metcalf, and Academy Award
nominee Melissa Leo had all signed on to appear in the
series.
There is still a chance
that another network could snap up the rights to
The Farm
.
L Word
creator Ilene Chaiken crafted the show as a spin-off for
Hailey's character Alice, who, in
The Farm
, has reportedly been sent to prison for the murder of Jenny
Schecter.
