Variety reports that CBS's lesbian- and transgender-inclusive drama The Education of Max Bickford, starring Richard Dreyfuss, Marcia Gay Harden, and Helen Shaver, has gotten a full-year pickup, meaning that the network has guaranteed to produce the series through the end of the season. CBS gave the same good news to That's Life, while canceling Citizen Baines. Still no word yet on a pickup, however, for first-year comedy The Ellen Show, starring out comedian Ellen DeGeneres.
