Six Feet Under, the acclaimed HBO series created by out Oscar winner Alan Ball (American Beauty), will return in March, and Variety reports that a number of acclaimed directors are returning to the show or will be directing for the series for the first time. New helmers include lesbian filmmaker Rose Troche (Go Fish, The Safety of Objects), Dan Attias, Michael Cuesta (L.I.E.), Alan Taylor (Palookaville, That Burning Question), and openly gay Six Feet Under executive producer Alan Poul. Returning for the second season will be directors Miguel Arteta (Chuck and Buck), Kathy Bates, Michael Engler, Rodrigo Garcia (Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her), and Jeremy Podeswa (The Five Senses). Actors slated to appear on the new season of the show include Shawn Hatosy (Outside Providence, Borstal Boy), Grant Show, and Lili Taylor.
