The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has announced the recipients of the 2002 NGLTF Leadership Awards, which will honor prominent figures in activism, journalism, and television. Receiving the awards in Los Angeles on September 17 will be Roger Croteau and Steve Lofton, a couple whose lawsuit to challenge Florida's ban on gay adoption brought national attention to the issue; Advocate editorial director Judy Wieder; and actor Alec Mapa, who portrayed network television's first gay Asian sitcom character on the CBS series Some of My Best Friends.
