Out filmmaker Joel Schumacher is in negotiations to bring Jane Stanton Hitchcock's novel Social Crimes to the big screen for Phoenix Pictures, reports Variety. The book, published by Miramax Books in June, tells the story of a New York City socialite who seeks revenge after her husband throws her over for his younger mistress. Schumacher's Veronica Guerin will be released in December, and his delayed film Phone Booth is expected out in early 2003.
