Variety reports that out director Adam Shankman, whose Bringing Down the House was 2003's first release to cross the $100 million mark, will next direct Enchanted for Disney. The film will be a romantic fable that mixes animation and live action to tell the story of a peasant girl who is banished from her (cartoon) kingdom and makes her way to (live-action) New York City. Also on Shankman's docket is a remake of Topper for Disney and a live-action version of The Jetsons for Universal.
