One of the stars of Rosie O'Donnell's production Taboo made a showy exit from rehearsals after clashing with O'Donnell, only to return shortly thereafter. Actor Raul Esparza (Cabaret, Tick Tick Boom) stormed out of last Thursday's rehearsal after receiving a note on his performance from O'Donnell. Before departing, Esparza shouted, "Then let my understudy do it--in fact, let my understudy do the whole run!" He wound up returning later that night, and rehearsal continued. Esparza refused to comment on the situation, and a spokesperson for O'Donnell told the New York Post, "Raul gives one of the most brilliant performances I've seen onstage, and I can't wait for Taboo to open on November 13." Previews for the show were delayed but will begin Tuesday.
