Original Broadway cast pursued for Rent movie

In a departure from Hollywood's usual practice of replacing Broadway actors with movie stars, Revolution Studios has entered into discussions with members of the original cast of the Broadway musical Rent to reprise their roles in the upcoming film version, to be directed by Chris Columbus. Original cast members involved in the talks include Anthony Rapp, Taye Diggs, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, and Jesse L. Martin.
