Acclaimed gay actor Sir Ian McKellen will receive the Golden Bear Award, the Berlin International Film Festival's lifetime achievement award, at the 2006 Berlinale, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also receiving the coveted honor will be Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda. This year's festival wraps up Saturday, February 18, with a screening of a restored version of Sam Peckinpah's 1973 Western Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, starring James Coburn, Kris Kristofferson, and Bob Dylan.
