Ewan McGregor (The Velvet Goldmine, Star Wars) will star opposite Douglas Hodge in the new British drama Scenes of a Sexual Nature. The 35-year-old actor will play Hodge's gay lover in the film, which will feature kissing between the two.
Asked about playing gay by Britain's Daily Express newspaper, McGregor said, "I've never been a soldier, but I've played a soldier. My character Billy is a human being--if he is gay or straight, it doesn't make any difference." McGregor and Hodge starred in a stage version of the musical Guys and Dolls, and McGregor joked that they rehearsed the kiss then, saying, "We would run it a few times between shows."
