David Hasselhoff's stint as Roger DeBris in the Las Vegas production of The Producers will be cut short. According to Playbill Online, the 90-minute production will continue to play on an open-ended schedule at Paris Las Vegas.
"It has been an honor and privilege to have worked with Mel Brooks and Susan Stroman and an outstanding cast and crew," Hasselhoff said in a statement. "This has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career in addition to having been so much fun, and I'm sorry to say goodbye."
The Broadway production of the Mel Brooks musical will end its run on April 22 at the St. James Theater. It opened to rave reviews on April 19, 2001, and is the recipient of the most Tony awards in Broadway history. (The Advocate)
