Project Runway, cable's top-rated reality show, will make the move from Bravo to Lifetime effective this fall, Variety reported Monday. The show's producers, the Weinstein Company, signed a five-year deal with the women's network. The move prompted Bravo to file a lawsuit in the New York supreme court against the company.
"We believe that this lawsuit is without merit," Weinstein attorney David Boies said in the report. "While good for the market for lawyers, it is always unfortunate when parties try to win in court what they have lost in the marketplace."
The Weinsteins thanked Bravo for helping cultivate the show but said that "Lifetime's unique cable reach will ensure that the show will continue to grow and expand in the years to come."
The sixth season will premier in November. (The Advocate)
