Organizers of Saturday's Kansas City, Mo., AIDS walk say the event brought in more than $250,000 for area AIDS service organizations and research programs, The Kansas City Star reports. About 4,000 people participated in the fund-raiser. AIDS advocates in the area say the money is desperately needed as the federal government cut nearly a half million dollars from Kansas City's annual Ryan White AIDS funding this year.
