The International AIDS Society and the Kaiser Family Foundation announced a partnership between the two organizations to provide comprehensive online coverage of the 16th International AIDS Conference, which will be held August 13-18 in Toronto. Kaiser will serve as the official Webcaster for the conference, providing daily conference news on its Web site at www.kaisernetwork.org/aids2006. "We are committed to ensuring that those not able to attend the conference have access to its contents through an online Webcast," said IAS executive director Craig McClure in a press statement. "In addition, the Webcast allows those at the conference access to a lasting record of conference proceedings."
Daily coverage will include:
* Live and tape-delayed Webcasts and transcripts of each day's sessions, including the opening and closing sessions, all plenary sessions, and selected other sessions and press conferences;
* English-, French-, and Spanish-language audio podcasts of select sessions;
* Slide presentations from select conference sessions;
* Daily narrated video highlights of conference developments;
* A free daily update e-mail providing direct access to the latest coverage;
* Special coverage of select conference sessions as well as news summaries from international media in the Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report;
* Interviews with newsmakers and journalists to summarize conference developments. (The Advocate)
