AIDS Arms' Peabody Health Center in Dallas was burglarized last month, and the thieves stole a piece of copper pipe from a ground sprinkler system that ruptured a water line and flooded the entire facility, The Dallas Morning News reports. The robbery took place over a weekend, and when employees returned to work the following Monday they found the entire 4,000-square-foot facility under two feet of standing water. Although no patient records were damaged, the facility has had to close and direct its patients to the agency's administrative offices, which include only a makeshift examination room. Agency officials expect the health center to reopen by August 21. Repairs are estimated to cost as much as $100,000, with all but about $15,000 covered by insurance. (The Advocate)
