Brandon Routh Belting? Legends of Tomorrow's Mixtape Has That and More

A new musical collection from DC's Legends of Tomorrow gives queer super-fans something to sing about.

The great chanteuse Bonnie Taylor once decreed in the 1984 timeless classic that she was "Holding Out for a Hero." She knew then what pop culture knows now: that superheroes and music go hand-in-hand. Or cape-in-cape.

Thankfully, the CW's queer-centric television series DC's Legends of Tomorrow is no longer holding out and giving the queers (and everyone else) what they want by releasing DC's Legends of Tomorrow: The Mixtape.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: The Mixtape is a sonic collection featuring songs pulled from the show's most memorable musical moments, like the David Bowie-ish "Space Girl," former cast member Brandon Routh singing "Mr. Parker's Cul-De-Sac," and "I Surrender," the Broadway-esque production number from season 4. With 21 songs, this mixtape is a must for the television show's longtime fans.

Based on DC Comics line of superhero characters, DC's Legends of Tomorrow has showcased out and proud bisexual and lesbian characters throughout its run. The show is now airing the second half of its sixth season on Sundays on the CW. The first episode of the current season showcased a same-sex wedding between the show's two co-captains, Ava Sharpe and Sara Lance. DC's Legends of Tomorrow has also been renewed for a seventh season. Will a mixtape vol. 2 be far behind? Fans can hold out hope.

WaterTower Music's DC's Legends of Tomorrow: The Mixtape (Songs from the Original Television Soundtrack) is now available on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, Amazon, and more. Follow this playlist to have the music saved to your library: https://lnk.to/DCLegendsPR
