Rufus Wainwright announces spring tour dates
RollingStone.com reports that out troubadour Rufus Wainwright is headed out on his first solo headlining tour, in support of his latest album, Poses. Last year Wainwright traveled without a full band on the Tori Amos and Roxy Music tours; he was also scheduled to participate in the aborted Wotapalava tour. On this new outing, he will be accompanied by his sister Martha (guitar and vocals), Jeff Hill (bass), Butch from the Eels (drums-percussion), and an additional guitarist-keyboardist to be named later. Adding guitar and vocals will be fellow rock progeny Teddy Thompson (son of Richard and Linda Thompson), who will also be the opening act on this tour (except for the New York City dates, which will be opened by Antony Hegarty, of Antony and the Johnsons, and Martha Wainwright).
Here is the complete schedule for the Rufus Wainwright tour:
2/8: Boston, Avalon Ballroom
2/9: Albany, N.Y., Hart Theater at the Egg
