A warrant was
issued Tuesday for the arrest of the man charged with the
first-degree murder of 63-year-old Key West gardener Rodger
Keller; Keller had been one of the original members of
the Gay Liberation Front in the 1970s. Johnny Ray
Holt, 24, who had apparently lived with Keller for
four months at one point, has been held in a Georgia jail
since March 21, the day after Keller's death, on a
related burglary charge, reports Key West's
Citizen newspaper.
Holt is accused of shooting Keller at
point-blank range days after burglarizing his
girlfriend's family's house in Alabama and taking off
with their car for Florida. On his way back north he was
arrested in Georgia after his girlfriend alerted
authorities to his exact location. (The
