Two gay Spanish air force members from a base in southern Spain plan to marry next September at Seville's town hall in a ceremony attended by 40 of their colleagues. Alberto, one half of the couple, told the Spanish news agency Europa Press, "We know it's complicated, as we're not gardeners but soldiers," adding, "Some of our superiors will make life impossible for us, but some of them do that already." Unlike at other weddings involving military personnel, the two will not don their uniforms for the ceremony. Last summer the government of prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero legalized same-sex marriage in Spain; it has since allowed gay couples to adopt children. (Sirius OutQ News)
