Brett Timmerman, as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, went to a local sandwich shop in July 2005. According to the suit, Oden Waite and Enove Urias approached him, making homophobic remarks. One then put Timmerman in a headlock and took him to the ground. Timmerman said Waite spit on him twice.
Timmerman's attorney told the AP he reached a deal with Waite's attorneys last week, but the settlement terms will remain secret.The lawsuit against Urias is pending. (The Advocate)
