The Pin-Up Reservist's Violent Past

A tow truck driver came forward on Thursday, claiming he too was attacked by the marine reservist currently facing charges of beating a priest he said hit on him.

Steve Allen of Tampa, Fla., told WFTS News that he had never been more violently attacked than when he was beaten by Lance Cpl. Jasen Bruce in 2007. Allen was towing Bruce's Jaguar, which was illegally parked outside of a janitorial business instead of the gym Bruce was in. When Bruce saw his car being towed, he brought a group of others with him to the parking lot, where they proceeded to beat Allen.

"They were all yelling and all of a sudden [Bruce] comes running across the bed [of the truck] with both hands and hits me in the chest," Allen said. "It hurt. Probably the hardest I've been hurt in my life." Bruce was charged with battery, to which he pleaded no contest.

Bruce is accused of attacking the Reverend Alexios Marakis with a tire iron and chasing him for blocks on Monday evening after Marakis, a Greek Orthodox priest from Crete, asked him for directions. Bruce called 911, claiming that a terrorist tried to rob him. However, Bruce's attorney later said that Marakis tried to sexually assault the marine.
