French Elle, a prominent fashion magazine, has declared that Michelle Obama is more stylish than France's own first lady, Carla Bruni.
"Mrs. Obama resembles no one else -- her style is unique," the article reads, according to the Times Online. "She encourages young designers and has succeeded in imposing the waisted cardigan as official dress."
Among those careers Obama has helped launch is out designer Jason Wu. Obama has worn Wu's designs throughout the year, including to President Barack Obama's inauguration, on the cover of Vogue's March issue, and to visit Queen Elizabeth II in April.
This is the second year in a row that Bruni has come second in the category of "political chic." Last year Asma Assad, the British-born wife of the Syrian president, took the top spot.
