The family of Canadian Christopher Skinner has partnered up with local law enforcement to offer $75,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people who killed him.

Skinner was on his way home from his sister's birthday party in the early morning of October 18, when he was beaten by as many as four people and then run over by an SUV, according to the Toronto Star. Toronto police believe Skinner accidentally touched the SUV while trying to hail a cab, and then the SUV's occupants got out, attacked him, got back into the vehicle, and drove over him. He died in a hospital afterward.

Along with a $50,000 reward from police, his family has offered an additional $25,000. Detective Stacy Gallant said there were likely between two and four people in the SUV and that they probably have not kept quiet about the murder.

"There's no doubt in my mind that they have spoken to others," Gallant told the Star. "They were cold-hearted enough to drive over Mr. Skinner and simply drive away. So I'm not surprised that they haven't come forward."

Skinner, 27, was engaged to his boyfriend, Ryan Cooke, who says the grieving process has been difficult.

"I am trying to identify my own normal again," he said. "I have to put together a new normal."
