NY Marriage Advocates We Will Not Go Away

Marching-on2x390

The Empire State Pride agenda, the statewide LGBT rights organization in New York, released a video on Friday in response to the stinging vote against the marriage equality bill in the state senate on December 2.

The video, shown below, thanks the 24 Democratic senators who voted for the bill, and it warns the 38 senators, including all 30 Republicans and eight Democrats, who voted against the bill that, "We will not go away."

Footage includes the speech from Sen. Diane Savino of Staten Island, whose pop culture-based analysis of the shortcomings of straight marriages has had hundreds of thousands of views online.

While there is no plan to raise the marriage equality bill again in the immediate future, advocates have vowed to support primary opponents against senators who rejected the bill.
