Vincent Capretta, the priest who moonlights as a scantily clad drag queen named Big Mama Capretta, has another dance hit on his hands with "Candy Medicine."
Capretta's song -- which, according to a press release, reached the top-selling spot on Masterbeat.com, a leading dance music retailer -- isn't about party drugs.
"['Candy Medicine'] is all about having safe sex and using condoms -- the condoms are candy medicine," Big Mama said in the press release. "The church is wrong and selfish to discourage the use of condoms. The use of condoms is not sinful, but rather an outward demonstration of virtue, respect, and moral responsibility."
While at night Capretta is big and blond, during the day she is Father Anthony, a.k.a., Vincent Capretta, a rector of the Community of Charity, an Independent Old Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio, that describes itself as all-inclusive. This summer Capretta had a Top 20 U.S. Billboard Club Play Dance Chart hit with "Big Mama's House."
