Mia Kirshner, who regularly pissed off fans of The L Word for six seasons as the ultimately ill-fated Jenny, has a new gig. Starting in January, she'll appear on the CW's Vampire Diaries in a recurring role.

The actress will reportedly be playing the role of Isobel, the sweet yet dangerous wife of Matt Davis's history teacher, Alaric.

The Vampire Diaries has yet to go the gay route of another vampire hit, True Blood, but with out Dawson's Creek and Scream scribe Kevin Williamson at the helm, it may well be only a matter of time.

Kirshner is expected to make her debut on the January 21 episode.
