Mr. Gay UK 2006 Mark Carter has been arrested on suspicion of an alleged sexual attack. The police officer, who is serving with the West Yorkshire Police, has been suspended from duty.
The alleged incident took place last weekend when Carter and a friend went out clubbing.
"Police arrested a 27-year-old man at a hotel in Leeds on suspicion of committing a serious sexual offense, on Saturday, December 19th," a police spokesperson told the Huddlesfield Examiner. Enquiries are ongoing and the man has since been bailed pending further enquiries. The man has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the investigation."
Carter was named Mr. Gay UK in 2006 and placed runner-up in the European competition the following year.
