Get Ready for Spice Girls The Musical

Judy Craymer, the producer of the Broadway sensation Mamma Mia!, is creating a show on the Spice Girls and their music. The project has been given the title of Viva Forever, the name of the British girl group's hit 1998 single.

Simon Fuller -- the group's former manager, as well as the creator of American Idol -- will work with Craymer to produce the musical for London's West End. A press release notes that the musical won't be a tribute show but will feature the distinct personalities of the group. It's unlikely that Posh, Ginger, Scary, Baby, or Sporty will appear.

"I'm delighted that Simon Fuller and the Spice Girls are so supportive of the idea," Craymer said. "I want to create a unique celebration of the band and its music, with its own flavor and joyful message."
