Rock Hudson may have passed away 25 years ago, but much of his life is only now being exposed. Filmmakers Andrew Davies and Andre Schafer will unveil Rock Hudson: Dark and Handsome Stranger at the Berlin International Film Festival next month.
On Top magazine reports the film is intended to reveal exactly what it was like for a Hollywood actor to suppress his homosexuality during an era when such a "scandal" could have ended his career. Hudson was typically cast in films as a masculine romantic lead and for much of his career narrowly avoided being outed -- even brokering a
deal with a magazine to prevent an expose at one point.
The film features a star-studded list of interviewees including Elizabeth Taylor, Heather Locklear, novelist Armistead Maupin, and even Hudson's former assistant Tom Clark.
