Lady Gaga's dual Grammy wins Sunday night coupled with her opening performance with Elton John brought her to tears, she told reporters backstage.

"I'm so ... I can't believe it, we won two Grammys earlier today .. I'm just completely floored. And I've ruined all of my makeup right before the show," Gaga told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush backstage. "I was just so happy ... this is not an award for me, it's for my fans. And I love my fans so much. And I wanted them to know that they should believe in themselves. And I wanted to be everything that they hoped I would be tonight, and that's what we got to do."

Gaga won Grammys for Best Electronica/Dance Album for The Fame and Best Electronica/Dance Song for "Poker Face" but lost out in some of the more mainstream categories. She says she still feels a bit like a music industry outsider.

"I still feel like an outsider, but I like being an outsider, and I'm one with my tribe of fans, that's who I want to be one with," she told Bush. "I'm just so happy, I can't say enough, and Elton was so amazing and the performance was really truly magical. I had been fantasizing about this performance piece for a while and we got to do it ... and I'm just really truly, floored."
