Lighting designer Alejandro Bulaevsky was found dead, wearing an S/M outfit, latex mask, and handcuffs in his Manhattan apartment Monday, according to police.
There were no obvious signs of trauma or of a break-in at the apartment, located in Battery Park City. While it is unclear as to how he died, investigators are searching his e-mail and Internet records to find ties to anyone who may have had access to his apartment, the New York Daily News reports.
Bulaevsky's boyfriend, who was staying in England, contacted his family after he couldn't reach him on the phone. His coworkers at Matrical LLC were also concerned when he did not arrive at the office on Monday morning. The building superintendent eventually entered Bulaevsky's apartment and found him dead on the floor. The medical examiner will likely perform an autopsy Tuesday.
Blaevsky's firm designed lighting installations in restaurants and hotels in New York, Las Vegas, and Nashville.
