A Facebook campaign seeks to draft Laura Bush as a guest of honor for this year's Dallas pride parade because of the former first lady's support for marriage equality.

According to the Dallas Morning News, "the idea was broached on DallasVoice.com." The event, which takes place on September 19, is officially known as the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Festival and Parade.

Bush expressed her support for marriage equality during the recent tour for her new book, Spoken From the Heart.
