The fabled French Quarter of New Orleans became a sea of feathers, glitter, and bare skin during last weekend's Southern Decadence as thousands of LGBT revelers descended on the popular Louisiana destination. While the final numbers for the event aren't yet available, organizers anticipated 125,000 visitors for the 39th annual weekend, the largest attendance since before Hurricane Katrina ravaged portions of the city in 2005. The projected economic impact from 2009's Southern Decadence festival brought in over $150 million to the local economy. The 2010 parade grand marshals, Julien Artressia and Toby Lefort, raised over $5,000 to benefit the NO/AIDS Task Force.
