The right-wing pundit said that the Republican gubernatorial candidate was simply appeasing his conservative religious audience in Brooklyn, which amounts to campaigning in Chicago and saying, "Go Cubs."
According to the The Huffington Post, in an interview with Bill O'Reilly on Fox News Monday, Coulter said, "I think someone on this network should [defend him]," and called Paladino a "great warrior" who wants to lower taxes.
On Sunday, Paladino campaigned among ultra-Orthodox Jewish leaders and said that children should not be "brainwashined" into thinking that homosexuality is an "equally valid or successful option." The comments drew widespread outcry while many Republicans including GOProud, the group that hosted Coulter at its Homocon event in New York City last month, sought to put distance between themselves and the volatile Buffalo businessman.
However, Coulter said, "He's speaking to Hasidim...it's like going to Chicago. You say, 'Go Cubs.'"
