California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman has joined the growing chorus of Republicans who say that Carl Paladino was out of line with his antigay comments.
Last weekend, the New York gubernatorial candidate told a group of ultra-Orthodox Jewish leaders in Brooklyn that children should not be "brainwashed" into believing that homosexuality is "an equally valid or successful option."
John Phillips, a gay radio host for 790 KABC in Southern California, asked the former eBay CEO what she thought of the comments from her fellow Republican and wealthy business leader in New York.
"I haven't been following that race too closely," said Whitman. "It seems that those were not appropriate comments. I think that was not an appropriate thing to say. I think it's wrong."
Listen to the interview here. Phillips poses the Paladino question at the 20:50 mark.
