Bishop Eddie Long, who admits to having shared rooms with members of his church on trips, did not engage in inappropriate sexual conduct with the four young men who claim Long sexually coerced them, church officials said in court filings Monday.

The Associated Press reportsthat leaders of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Georgia understand "that Bishop Long often shared hotel rooms with members of the congregation," but did not specifically address the allegations by the four men who claim Long coerced them into having sexual relations with him on trips.

Officials with the church also said they do not believe "Bishop Long or any of its agents or employees engaged in the conduct alleged by the plaintiff.
