A gay horror flick pulled from the Melbourne International Film Festival for its mix of necrophilia and gay sex spawns a police raid at the home of the festival director, who said he had already destroyed his copy.
Richard Wolstencroft told AFP that he screened L.A. Zombie at his home in September after censors objected to the film's inclusion at the Melbourne festival in July.
"Police searched for a copy of the film, but we destroyed ours after the [screening]," Wolstencroft told AFP.
The film, which stars French gay porn star Francois Sagat, had been rejected by the Australian Classification Board, though Wolstencroft said in a statement that he believed the work was "artistically significant" and held the home screening as an act of protest.
