Meghan McCain answers the tantalizing question of whether she and her parents pass political disagreements with the cranberry sauce, saying that the family will not discuss "don't ask, don't tell" repeal during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Christian Science Monitor reports that McCain spoke Sunday at the Miami Book Fair International, where she was promoting her new book, Dirty Sexy Politics.

"I'm going home for Thanksgiving tomorrow," she said. "When we sit around Thanksgiving dinner, I'm not going to be talking about 'don't ask, don't tell,' Ms. McCain said Sunday at the Miami Book Fair International."

Political observers have wondered about the scene on the McCain home front because despite Meghan's public embrace of gay rights, Sen. John McCain has vowed to lead Republicans in blocking repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" during the lame duck session. Meanwhile, Cindy McCain appeared in a No H8 video that called for repeal, but she quickly backtracked to say that she fully supports her husband's position on the issue.

Their daughter Meghan extends her support to marriage equality, too, but that does not appear to dictate her choice for president in 2012. According to the Monitor, she wants to work for Mitt Romney, the Mormon and former Massachusetts governor, who is widely expected to run.
