Man Charged for Targeting LGBT Businesses

A man arrested Feb. 8 in Long Beach, Calif., has been charged with felony vandalism with a special allegation for a hate crime after allegedly targeting businesses catering to the LGBT community.

Officials at the Long Beach Police Department say Oliver Rodrich Saintvictor, 23, of Rancho Palos Verdes, smashed windows at three separate businesses miles apart on December 17, 2010. The first two were gay- and lesbian-owned establishments in Long Beach, while the third was "a similar type of business in Redondo Beach with similar circumstances," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Police say the suspect and vehicle descriptions in all three incidents were linked to Saintvictor.
