Out performer Nathan Lane returns to television in a new pilot just announced by the USA Network.
USA copresidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber announced the network's new projects Monday, saying their goal was "not only to do great new shows with original voices, but also to push the envelope of audience expectations." Among the eight dramas and five comedies slated for development is On We Go, a single-camera half hour featuring Lane as a down-on-his-luck actor whose career is cursed by his resemblance to Nathan Lane. The show's executive producers will be Lane and Douglas McGrath.
Also on the development slate is a project featuring former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and a limited series called The Enclave, for which Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Peirce is in negotiations to run.
