Chicago To Honor Gay Military Vets

The Chicago Tribune reports that gay military veterans will be honored Tuesday afternoon during Chicago's 9th annual salute.

LGBT honorees will be John Graziani, Veronica Hernandez, Marquell Smith, Anthony Sullivan, and Willa J. Taylor.

According to the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, Tuesday's event is the only municipally sponsored military salute to gay veterans.

The celebration, which will take place at noon at Richard J. Daley Plaza in the Loop, will be sponsored in part by the American Veterans for Equal Rights.
