A controversial antigay preacher from Minnesota has plans to sue MSNBC and Rachel Maddow for $50 million for being allegedly shown in a false light.
Bradlee Dean, who runs the You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International ministry, spoke in 2010 on a radio show about Muslims and their views on homosexuality. He also encouraged Christians to take a more proactive approach against gay rights and LGBT activism.
The Examiner reports that The Minnesota Independent initially reported Dean's message in 2010, but the ministry claims that his quote was edited and presented inaccurately. Despite a statement put out by the You Can Run But You Cannot Hide ministry disputing the Independent's reporting, several other news organizations, including ABC News and The Rachel Maddow Show also ran with a shortened version of the quote.
Larry Klayman, an attorney representing the ministry, claims that Maddow's show altered the quote, omitting parts of his statement. This is the quote that Maddow's show featured:
The Muslims are calling for the execution of homosexuals in America. This was just released yesterday and it shows you that they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God. But they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality's an abomination. If America won't enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that.
And this is what was allegedly said by Dean on a radio show:
Muslims are calling for the execution for homosexuals in America. This was just released yesterday, and it shows you that they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible, the Judeo-Christian God. They seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do. Because these people are livid about enforcing their laws, they know homosexuality is an abomination. And I continually reach out to the homosexual communities on this radio show, and I warn them, which ones love? Here you have Obama condemning it behind the backs of the homosexuals, but to their faces, he's promoting it. I say this to my gay friends out there the ones that continuously nitpick everything I say. Hollywood is promoting immorality, and the God of the Heavens in Jesus name is warning you to flee from the wrath to come. Yet you have Muslims calling for your execution. If America won't enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that. That's what you're seeing in America today. Read Leviticus 26, America.
