"There is this question about what his core principles are," Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod said Sunday on Mitt Romney's history of 180s on social issues, including abortion and gay rights.
Appearing on ABC's This Week With Christiane Amanpour, Axelrod said that the former Massachusetts governor was a "pro-choice, pro-gay rights, pro-environmental candidate" during gubernatorial and senatorial bids but compromised those stances for his White House ambitions.
"Time and time and time again he shifts, and you get the feeling that there is no principle too large for him to throw over in pursuit of political office," Axelrod said.
