Singer George Michael was released from a Vienna hospital Thursday after suffering a severe bout of pneumonia, according to a report published by Austrian paper The Oesterreich and posted on CBS News.
The paper says that Michael was discharged and walked to a limousine that would drive him to the airport so he could spend Christmas at his home in London. Michael's publicist, however, says the report in The Oesterreich is based on a rumor and released no further information. Michael's official website was last updated on December 13 with a note encouraging the 48-year-old singer to get well soon.
Michael was forced to postpone dates of his Symphonica European tour last month when he fell ill and was admitted to Medical University of Vienna.
