Australian actress and comedian Magda Szubanski announced this week that she's gay and a marriage equality supporter.
Szubanski is known to certain American audiences as the daffy Sharon on the Australian television comedy Kath & Kim (the character didn't make it into the short-lived American version). Szubanski teased the public about her orientation in a statement on Monday that urged the Australian government to enact marriage equality. But on Valentine's Day, Szubanski wanted things to be clear.
"Let me just define my terms here -- I identify as gay myself," Szubanski said on the The Project program. "Now when I say that, what that means is I am absolutely not straight."
