Fabulous! Festive! FUNdraising! Speedos...in December?! Embrace the cold! On Saturday, Dec. 8, the 8th annual Santa Speedo Run Boystown presented by Miller Lite will raise money to support Center on Halsted. Over 250 participants don their gay apparel for a one-mile run through the heart of Lakeview, clad in nothing more than Santa hats, speedos and other holiday attire! Last year's event raised over $70K for Center on Halsted and the vital services the Center provides. The event draws a crowd of thousands each year, as well as drawing national and international media coverage.

The event will be held at Sidetrack Video Bar, 3349 N Halsted. Registration starts at 12 noon and the one-mile run begins promptly at 2:00pm. The run is followed with merriment, entertainment and prizes hosted by Debbie Fox (and stick around for the "afterparty" hosted by Sidetrack's Dixie Lynn Cartwright). Everyone is encouraged to wear holiday attire such as a Speedo and a Santa hat, but it is not mandatory. Festive holiday costumes have included Elves, Reindeer, Hanukkah Harrys and more. Runners are asked for a minimum $25 donation to participate. Donations may also be made directly to Center on Halsted. The full donation for the event will support Center on Halsted.
