Boys! Boys! You can both sit on the giant banana, you just need to learn to share. More information on the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras below.

Australians take their Mardi Gras seriously. There are multiple raucous events, dazzling costumes, and we are not even showing you the parade yet. Come back tomorrow for that. These photos are from Fair Day and the Mardi Gras Pool Party.

The sun shone on Newtown February 19 for Fair Day at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. Thanks to  Jeffrey Feng and Ann-Marie Calilhanna for the great photos, courtesy of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Fair Day attracts more than 80,000 people, who enjoy a selection of international cuisine while perusing wares from local vendors and learning more from local LGBTQ organizations.

On February 27, the Mardi Gras Pool Party was held at the luxurious Ivy Pool Bar, a luxury venue in Sydney with palm trees, private cabanas, cocktails, and DJs. The pool party featured beats that can be heard underwater and a disco in the change room. Thanks to Ann-Marie Calilhanna and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras for the photos.
