Grandma Wins Christmas Remaking Trans Grandson's Doll in His Image

Raggedy Ann

A Twitter user by the name of Gabe shared the heartwarming story that his grandmother borrowed his childhood Raggedy Ann only to return it with some important changes.

A grandmother supported her transgender grandson's identity in the sweetest way this Christmas when she borrowed his childhood Raggedy Ann doll prior to the holidays and returned it with some important updates to affirm her grandchild's transgender identity.

After Christmas, a trans man who goes by @Snepblep on Twitter sent out a tweet about his grandmother's gesture that went viral. He explained that took the Raggedy Ann, which bore his birth name on its chest, and returned it with an "I heart Gabe" (his taken name) emblem where the birth name was. She also gave the doll a haircut and dressed it in pants.

"He's trans, like me," Gabe wrote on Twitter.

But that wasn't all. Gabe's grandmother gave him several other gifts emblazoned with his chosen name. Among the gifts from his grandmother were a pocketknife with "Gabe" engraved on it and a t-shirt that reads "I'm Gabe doing Gabe things."

Social media users were moved by the post and shouted out to Gabe and his grandma.
