Protesters take to D.C. streets to demand action on Chechen atrocities
Dozens gathered in front of the Russian embassy in Washington \ Tuesday to demand that Moscow end antigay atrocities in Chechnya. The demonstration, organized by the Human Rights Campaign, came a day before Russian leaders met with President Trump (and hours before he fired FBI director James Comey). News reports indicate officials in the semiautonomous Russian republic of Chechnya are rounding up gay and bisexual men, placing them in concentration camps, and torturing them; various reports say anywhere between three and 30 men have been killed.
